This error indicates that DHCPv6 has timed out without receiving a response from the DHCPv6 server.

Things to try:

  * Check that you are running a DHCPv6 server.  DHCPv6 is not required in order to obtain an IPv6 address.  If you are not using DHCPv6, then your router advertisement daemon should not instruct clients to attempt DHCPv6.

  * Check that your DHCPv6 server is online and responding to requests.

  * Check your DHCPv6 server logs.  For example, if you are using ISC dhcpd, you should see something like<code>dhcpd: Solicit message from fe80::5054:ff:fe12:3456 port 546, transaction ID 0x25C85200
